{BreezyNotes!}

April 28, 2009

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I have designed some simple notecards for a friend of mine. Rather than posting them up as images, I will post them up available for download within the next week or so (if time permits). They’re very simple designs, which won’t weigh too heavy on your wallet when you go to print. I’ll have them available in an assortment of colors… once they’re complete, I’ll put them up for your viewing pleasure! =)

Until then, stay tuned! ♥

FYI… a heads up!

April 26, 2009

I’ve been working on a little project for a good friend of mine. I’ll be posting images of the work real soon!

It’s not anything fancy, but they’re cute! Look for them in the next couple of days (hopefully!)

{My LOVE}… song inspiration

April 20, 2009

I LOVE this song right now… I’m starting to feel inspired! In the next couple weeks, I’ll have some new & interesting posts! Yes, leave it to Mariah Carey (& The Dream) to get me inspired!)

Still needing inspiration

April 19, 2009

I was hoping that this weekend would bring me SOME inspiration. But, unfortunately, it hasn’t. Friday morning, I noticed that the mosquito bite I got on my foot while I was in Northern California looked funny (& it was itchy as hell). My left foot was turning dark (almost black) around the bite… and there was a red, rash-like appearance around it that was spreading around my foot. Who would’ve thought it was infected? Now, I have to take antiobiotics 4 times a day for 10 days.

I have 2 papers, 2 tests & homework for school… and I’m still behind at work! When will it ever end?

After this week, I should be good though. I’m hoping to have the at least the baptism card done this week. Maybe?

Smoking… and DRUGS?!?!

April 16, 2009

Right next to our house is a Little Caesar’s Pizza shop. We love it. We go there at least once a week (you can’t beat a $5.99 pizza, right?). Well, right next door to it is a special store.

Anyway, my 6-year-old just started reading a few months ago (not just easy words… but REALLY READING), so he READS EVERYTHING out loud. He finally realized that the little store between Little Caesars & Kragen Auto Parts says “Smoke Shop”. So yesterday, after his T-ball practice, he says, “SMOKE SHOP. Mom, what’s a smoke shop?”

“It’s a place where you can buy cigarettes and stuff to smoke,” I tell him.

“Do all people who smoke do drugs?” he then asks.

“Where’d you get that idea?” I laughed.

“I don’t know. I just thought people who smoke do drugs.”

“Well you know that doing drugs is bad… and smoking is bad… and drinking is bad, too! That’s why it seems like all people who smoke do drugs,” I told him.

“I’m NEVER going to do any of those things!”

YES! A mother can only hope! =)

Thinking about our conversation, I was kind of amused at how my 6-year-old son would find a correlation between the two (or think there was a correlation between the two). We don’t really know a lot of people who smoke… and I don’t know how at 6-years-old, you would know what drugs are! I’m 27-years-old, and I’m pretty clueless about “drugs” because I didn’t grow up around it. But then I got a little nervous, because it’s kind of scary to think that kids would know what drugs are at such an early age! =( I don’t know if I should be happy that my son is being taught at an early age what drugs are… or if I should be afraid that kids are probably starting earlier, that it’s necessary to teach them at a younger age.

Inspiration, anyone?

April 16, 2009

My mind has been on overload lately. I have a need desire to do something creative. But with work & school, I haven’t had a chance to do anything “creative”. I’m in dire need of some inspiration.

I have a few things that I know I should probably should start planning for/designing (in no particular order):

  • end of the season T-ball party (June)
  • my friend’s daughter’s Christening (August)
  • a Quincenera (June)
  • my Chulo’s 7th birthday (September)
  • a welcome home party/BBQ (June)

That doesn’t even include the “maybe” parties from now until August. I just need a little spark. I need something to motivate to start planning these things. I feel so overwhelmed right now thinking of them, that I don’t know what to do or where to start. This weekend… I promise!

Why I’ve been MIA…

April 15, 2009

My monster is on Spring Break. He got 2 weeks off! Yay for him… ugh for me! Last week we traveled up to Northern California to visit his dad’s side of the family… and some of my friends. That’s where I’ve been. I wanted to blog while I was up there, but didn’t sit around anywhere for more than an hour, so there was no point in trying to log on & post something. LAME, I know. But I’m back… =) but I have a gazillion things to do at work! =( Hopefully, I’ll have a fun & interesting post in the next couple days or so! PROMISE!

Can you believe these people?

April 3, 2009

A San Diego–well San Marcos, to be exact–couple went on Dr. Phil bragging about how they make $100+K a year from stolen property! WTF, right? yeah. Read the story on the Dr. Phil website…

Their home was raided & property (including cars, furniture & other goods) were seized. And the saddest part of all is, they have 3 children! What kind of example are they trying to set? None, obviously!

They claim to be kleptomaniacs… but Dr. Phil tells them that they’re not. Here’s why:

A professional shoplifter often steals for profit for an illegitimate business. A kleptomaniac can’t resist the urge to steal, regardless of the monetary value, and he or she steals for a feeling of gratification and relief. A professional shoplifter steals valuable items in great quantities, whereas a kleptomaniac steals objects of little value. A professional shoplifter has plans to get away with stealing, whereas kleptomaniacs usually don’t plan their theft. A professional shoplifter often steals with others, but a kleptomaniac steals on his or her own without assistance from others.

What is this world coming to? Why can’t you get a job like the rest of us? But a better question… why would you go on national television with your confession? Isn’t stealing on an almost daily basis enough of a risk for you to take?

Why {i HEART!} M&AHL

April 2, 2009

“Marc and Angel Hack Life” is one of the best blogs I’ve ever come across. It isn’t a wedding blog… or a mommy blog… or an ALL ABOUT ME blog (like mine! ha ha). They blog about something that they know, love & enjoy… it’s a blog about LIFE in general, through their eyes.

Even though, it’s not considered a “funny blog,” I find humor in some of their posts. Though it’s not an “educational blog,” they’ve taught me a thing or two (& more). Though it’s not a “how to blog,” they have opened my eyes to new things. Though it’s not a “religious blog,” they have powerful words of wisdom that are encouraging & spiritual. And although it’s not an “advice blog,” they offer great insight & helpfulness in all aspects of life. It’s a “practical approach to productive living”…

I’ve blogged about their blog before… and I subscribe to their feed (I’m not obsessed… I just enjoy reading it). Whenever I read their blog, it makes me think & reflect on my own life. So I urge you to check them out if you haven’t already. After reading any of their posts, I gain a better appreciation for life. It opens my eyes to the truths in life that I don’t normally think about on a daily basis (or EVER!).

Anyway, the reason I am writing about them today of all days, is because I just read their most recent post (posted on 3/30/09), and it inspired me to write a post about their blog. (Click here to read the post!)

Of course this *one post* isn’t the ONLY reason why {i HEART!} their blog… this particular post just made me think to myself, “Awwww… I really hope they’re like this in REAL LIFE!”  Marc’s honesty (or at least they come off to be–and I’m *really* hoping they are) made me melt. Even if what Marc says didn’t really happen… or if he really didn’t feel that way (which I doubt), I’m okay with it. Cause when I read the last sentences (over & over again), I not only think Angel is one of the luckiest girl alive to have someone who loves her so much… I think how lucky they BOTH are to have one another & to be able to share those lovely,  little,  life moments that make a world of difference… *sigh*

Ugh… frustrated

April 2, 2009

Working in government contracting is frustrating! I’m so annoyed right now! I can’t wait to go on vacation… for ONE WHOLE WEEK!!! Maybe I’ll have more “uplifting” & inspiring posts… but for now, I don’t! Sorry…
